Printmaking and Clay 
Experiment with traditional printmaking techniques using ceramic-based materials to produce prints on clay. Experimentation will focus on several printmaking techniques:  screen printing, using simple photographic emulsion techniques and relief prints on wet and bisque fired clay.  Students are encouraged to bring imagery they currently use in their work or investigate new sources from the scenic island environment and rich Greek ceramic history.
Work will be made in local red clay, glazed with low fire glazes and fired in an electric kiln. Tools and lowfire glazes and underglazes, and firings are provided.

Painting the Landscape

In this painting class modernist ideas of depiction and interpretation are explored with an ancient landscape as departure. Students will learn different ways to interpret the landscape and may choose to work in oils or acrylics. Assignments focus on the relationship between concept and method providing skill development for both beginning and advanced students.

Tuition Cost: $1900 (includes a double occupancy room for 14 nights, continental breakfast and one daily meal)
